Use your own AI subscription

If you already pay for an AI plan, you can edit your site with it. Your edits then run on that plan and don't spend sitectrl editing credits. Your plan is billed by its provider, directly to you; sitectrl never resells it.

1. Sign in with your own plan — the simplest way

Your edits run in Claude Code, signed in as you, in a sandbox for your site. We run Claude Code's own sign-in; sitectrl never sees your password; your sign-in is never logged or read by us.

   Open Connect your AI in the left menu at app.sitectrl.ai. (In a site's editor, the same button is in the chip at the top, or in the red bar if you are out of credits.)

   Press Connect on the Claude card, then Open Claude sign-in. Sign in on Claude's own page, the way you usually do — Google or email both work.

   Paste the code Claude gives you into the box and press Send. The red bar disappears and your next edit runs on your plan.

2. Or, from inside the Claude or ChatGPT app (advanced)

Connect the app to sitectrl and its AI can build, edit and publish your site from the chat you already use.

   In the app, add a custom connector (an MCP server) with this address:https://mcp.sitectrl.ai/mcpIn Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT: add it as a custom MCP connector in its settings (which plans offer this is up to OpenAI).

   When the app opens a sitectrl sign-in, use Google or create an account. A new account gets a free site, no card.

   Ask for what you want: “Build me a site for my bakery, then publish it.” Your AI shows you a draft link before anything goes live.

What uses editing credits, and what doesn't

• No editing credits: when your own AI writes the pages and pushes them to your site, and publishing them (write_site_files, publish_site). Hosting is ours; the AI work is on your plan.
• Editing credits: when you ask sitectrl's own editor to build or change a site (create_site, edit_site) from the app. Say “you write the code and push the files” to keep it on your plan.
• In the editor: while you are signed in with your Claude plan, edits draw nothing from your credits.
